Advanced Criminal Analysis Training Bolsters Investigative Capabilities

From 13 to 17 April, General Authority of Anti Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances (ANGA) Training Centre hosted a comprehensive training programme on criminal analysis, led by EUBAM Libya trainers. The course was attended by 21 ANGA officers from various divisions and aimed to strengthen their use of analytical tools and techniques in support of drug trafficking crimes investigations of drug trafficking crimes.

Participants explored key aspects of the investigative process, including how to define and process information, identify and utilise key sources to build robust cases. Strategic investigation planning formed a cornerstone of the programme, with participants learning to effectively employ relevant templates, formats, and diverse methodologies to streamline and strengthen their investigative approaches.

Furthermore, the training provided essential knowledge in understanding and managing criminal statistics, navigating complex databases, and ensuring effective data management practices. Sessions were interactive and encouraged open discussion, with participants engaging in practical exercises.

The training was delivered by EUBAM Libya’s trainers, reflecting continued collaboration to support Libyan law enforcement efforts to reinforced institutional capacity. The programme concluded with a graduation and certificate ceremony on the final day.
This activity contributes to empower ANGA personnel with the analytical tools and knowledge necessary to conduct more effective investigations, ultimately endowing to enhanced security and the rule of law in Libya.
