Greener Netflix is a group of Netflix employees who share a deep interest in sustainability, and volunteer their time to organize and attend events. Check out some of the fun events they planned in the last year, including a clothing swap, tree planting volunteer day, screening, holiday market, a volunteer day cooking with rescued food, a speaking engagement with a climate displacement survivor, and more.

North of North, Netflix's first series from Canada, co-produced with CBC in partnership with APTN, represents a significant milestone for the entertainment industry in the country. As the first production of its scale filmed in Nunavut, it showcases the cultural and geographic richness of Canada's northernmost territory. Created by Stacey Aglok MacDonald and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, the show follows a young Inuk woman who wants to build a new future for herself after a very public exit from her marriage in her small Arctic town. While the series is a comedy, the creators, cast and crew faced plenty of challenges while filming the show in the far North - from harsh weather conditions and handling the logistics of transporting materials across thousands of kilometers, to figuring out how to tame fly-away hair in temperatures so cold that hair spray didn't work. The series was mainly filmed in Iqaluit, with the local curling rink doubling as the production stage for the show's sets. Hundreds of people in the town helped bring the show to life, with 500 locals serving as background actors in the show - even the mayor got in on the fun! With more than 300 Canadian crew members, over 45 Canadian cast members and $23+ Million in Gross Value Added Impact, North of North not only had a real and positive impact on the communities where it filmed, but it is bringing authentic storytelling from Inuit creators to our members around the world. North of North is now streaming on Netflix! #Netflix #Canada
