When faced with excess manpower, retrenchment should always be the last resort, after other feasible options have been considered and exhausted. In the event that retrenchment is inevitable despite having considered or implemented the necessary cost-saving measures, companies should retrench employees in a responsible and sensitive manner, taking reference from the Tripartite Advisory on Managing Excess Manpower and Responsible Retrenchment. Find out the considerations and requirements for carrying out a retrenchment exercise responsibly: https://bit.ly/TAMEMRRFB #tafepsg #humanresources

It’s heartening to see organisations such as Bosch having their leadership team share insights in relation to the Workplace Fairness Act which benefits HR professionals and employers. At TAFEP, we support employers with guidance, tools, and resources to navigate workplace fairness effectively. Learn more about WFA and fair employment practices at tafep.sg. #FairAndProgressive #WorkplaceFairness #TAFEP #InclusiveWorkplaces
"𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐭.” Spent a day with Bosch’s leadership team, discussing labour laws and grievance handling. It’s an essential knowledge for every HR professional and line manager, yet something we all hope never to use. As one participant aptly put it, "Some of these are great insights which we hope we’ll never need to apply." With the recent passing Workplace Fairness Legislation (WFL), it’s more important than ever for HR professionals and business leaders to stay informed and prepared. Navigating grievances, ensuring compliance, and upholding fairness is not just about avoiding legal pitfalls. Rather, it's about strengthening workplace culture through trust and respect. Grateful for the engaging discussions we had. Sessions like these reinforce that while laws set the foundation, it’s how we apply them that truly shapes the workplace.
