🎨 Creativity is the key to unlocking GenAI's full potential—that’s Dr. Jules White’s secret to prompting success. At Vanderbilt University and on Coursera, Dr. White explores the art and science of prompt engineering. Here, he’s sharing a few tips for getting started. 🔴 The most common trap: using LLMs as internet search tools. “Getting people to think about how to tell it to solve problems rather than answer plain questions is step one,” he says. 🟡 Rather than seek answers, seek support. “If you want it to give you an answer you’ll say, ‘Write this email.’ If you're thinking about, ‘How do I use it to support me,’ you’ll analyze it and think of the perspective of the other person,” he says. 🟢 Try it out: Using a thoughtful prompt enables the AI to craft more nuanced responses. For example, if you’d like to draft an email, use context like, "My colleague mentioned they’ve been busy with other priorities. I want to write them an email to ask for a project update but also offer help where I can. Can you provide me with a few options?" “The goal isn’t to have AI write you a bad version that you either edit or decide is terrible and throw away,” Dr. White says. “The goal is really to inform your thinking…It’s something to help you arrive at a better email than you could have written before." At Schneider Electric, we've learned that simply providing training isn't enough. It's not just about learning; it's about change management. The real challenge is making the learning "sticky" – ensuring that new knowledge and skills are actually applied and integrated into everyday work. What does "sticky" learning look like? It means fostering a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging knowledge sharing, and providing opportunities for employees to practice and apply what they've learned. I’m honored to have had the chance to share what I’ve learned about making learning stick in "Building High-Performing Teams" - a new playbook from Coursera. 👉 Download the playbook: [Link to Playbook] https://lnkd.in/etTfsNsP #ArtificialIntelligence #DataAndAIAcademy #ChangeAdoptionProgram #LearnEveryday #SkillsOfTheFuture Learning Activists – Communauté L&D & People Transformation Brandon Rafalson

Meet Ryan from North Carolina! 🇺🇸 Ryan kicked off the Google Project Management Certificate during his summer break as a music teacher, taking the opportunity to dive into something new. After a brief pause, he took his studies on the go, working at local coffee shops and libraries, which gave him space to dedicate his focus to learning. Now, as a Customer Success Manager in residential construction, Ryan is aiming for a career in SaaS or tech, leaning on his background in education as the backbone for his professional growth. “Completing the PM Certificate not only boosted my confidence but also equipped me with valuable, transferable skills that are already making a difference in my job search. The course helped me turn my instincts as a former music teacher into structured skills that I can apply in any industry. I'm pumped to keep learning and using these skills to level up my career!”
