Pew Research Center has new data from an April 7 - 13 poll on views of Trump and his policies: - 40% of Americans approve of Trump's job performance, down 7 pts from February - Among Trump's predecessors dating back to Reagan, the only other leader who did not enjoy majority approval at his 100-day mark was Bill Clinton (49% in April 1993) - 45% have confidence in Trump to make good decisions about the economy, his lowest rating on this measure since 2019. Some other findings: - 59% disapprove of the administration's tariff increases - 55% disapprove of the administration's cuts to federal departments and agencies - 78% say that if a federal court rules a Trump administration action illegal, the administration has to follow the court's ruling -- and it rises to 88% if it's the Supreme Court issuing the ruling - Half of Americans say Trump's policies are weakening U.S. standing in the world compared with Biden's policies, while 38% say they are putting the U.S. in a stronger position internationally.
