In the field, you learn the why.”    Latoya, UMA alum, shared how her perspective shifted from student to professional and reflected on the difference between knowing the steps and understanding the purpose.    “Empathy is what ties it all together. UMA helped me learn that extra level of care.” #UMASparkSummit

  “I may be a superwoman, but I’m not a superhero.”    At the #UMASparkSummit alumni panel, Dezmya shared how building her support system helped her thrive at home and in her new healthcare career and how her approach to patient care is rooted in compassion. “These patients aren’t just patients. They’re someone’s family. I treat them how I’d want mine treated.”    Thank you, Dezmya, for the reminder that empathy and support go hand in hand.

Dr. Tonya E. Barkley, DBA, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) and Dr. Purvi Gandhi reminded us that great patient care starts with supporting and listening to healthcare employees. Empowering the frontline means including them in the process, not just the outcome. That’s how we protect both the patient experience and the people behind it. #UMASparkSummit

What makes a great partnership?    That was the question that kicked off day three of the #UMASparkSummit during the panel and interactive working session with Lisa Hanlon, Sr. VP of People at Continuum Global Solutions, Richard Jordan, Sr. Director Talent Acquisition at Teleperformance Global Services, and Teri Morse, VP Talent Acquisition at Alorica.    Lisa Hanlon summed it up perfectly: “What defines our success with UMA? Trust, access, and intentionality.”    We’re feeling energized by the conversations and collaboration happening this week. Here’s to building stronger partnerships!
