I curate and moderate Practical Founders Peer Groups, where 35 founders/CEOs creating valuable software companies without big funding work on their businesses together every month in 5 peer groups. https://practicalfounders.com/peer-groups/

In my 30-year career in the software business, I was fortunate to be part of the startup and growth stages of three great companies that have since created over $2 billion in total revenue in the CRM software industry:
- As an early employee and product manager at ACT!, the best-selling Windows contact manager in the ’90s, used by 4 million salespeople.
- As a co-founder and executive of SalesLogix, the first mid-market CRM software, which went public in 1999 and was bought by Sage plc (LON: SGE) in 2001 for $300 million.
- As Chief Marketing Officer at Infusionsoft, we grew from $15 million to $100 million.

Most new founders think VC funding is the only way to go because the massive VC-Industrial Complex dominates tech media and startup ecosystem events in search of a few billion-dollar unicorns.

Moonshot VC investing isn’t bad or wrong. It’s just not the best way for most startup founders to create valuable software companies and maximize their results.

There has never been a better time to be a practical founder.
