Shanker Ramamurthy, this an excellent article that is well-structured and calls out important topics. We are truly in an exciting time right now and 2025 will be a "moving year". However, as excited as I am about what the new technology can bring to our clients; I am equally concerned about what this technology in the hands of the bad-guys could also mean. The external risks from new scams, schemes, deep fakes etc. that will be enabled by advances in Generative AI technology will enable bad-guys to create and introduce new risks and threats unlike any we have seen to date. This should not slow us down, but we have to keep our collective heads on a swivel to guard against bad-guys using the same technology - without the same ethical concerns. We have to make sure we build protections into our designs and ensure that the operating models of the future can cope with everything from new and unexpected external risks and regulation to managing Digital Workers. This is a great time...especially for the bold, willing to embrace the new capabilities while also protecting their flanks against the new external threats.

A lot has happened since BCG’s 2021 forecast for the quantum computing market. Their latest update highlights persistent challenges and only modest progress. Despite some increase in qubit counts and continued investments, quantum computing still lacks tangible advantages over classical computing in real-world applications.
