Nike is blogging about how their digital collectibles won't require a wallet, cryptocurrency, or blockchain. They quietly closed RTFKT and are now putting out .Swoosh content without any cumbersome blockchain crap. So let's pour one out and continue to piss on the grave of the dead 'web3' movement that got EVERYTHING wrong about digital collection. Don't worry most of the 'web3' folks have rebranded to 'Gen' AI and now love the Cloud. And Games continue to lead with digital inventory because we have functional uses for it... 🚨Apple is rolling out tap-to-pay with USDC stablecoins. 🚨 - Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire announced that tap-to-pay payments using Circle's USDC stablecoin on iPhones are expected soon. - This follows Apple's decision to open its NFC chip to third-party wallet developers, enabling blockchain transactions via tap. - iOS wallets supporting USDC could use FaceID to confirm payments, offering a direct pathway for merchant payments and NFTs. - Apple's new NFC access comes with restrictions, requiring commercial agreements and regulatory compliance. - The new third-party integrations will only be available in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, the UK, and the U.S.—at least initially. Sony Bank launched NFT platform where users can collect and trade the NFTs they’ve received as promotions.Security token may be on a private blockchain, which is the regulator’s preference, SNFT uses the Polygon public blockchain. In order to make the experience more user friendly for new users, some apps try to hide blockchain functionality, such as the need to pay for gas fees. However, SNFT does not, although it lets users on-ramp with credit cards. Right combination of public and private blockchain for achieving relevant business goals.
