Netflix is the latest titan to recognize the value of programmatic advertising with the announcement of its strategy to distribute unsold OTT/CTV ad space across several different providers. The Trade Desk, Google DV360, Magnite are cited as the next batch of providers. Up until now, CTV media buyers had to go through Microsoft Xandr DSP or book with Netflix publisher-direct. It reminds me of the moment when Lamar Advertising Company took the same bold step to ensure their unsold space was programmatically available in top notch, third party SSP platforms like Place Exchange and others. It’s a rite of passage. Expanding the surface area of buy-side and sell-side platforms unlocks massive revenue dollars, when done right. Some of the smartest people in the world of business work at Netflix. This is proof of that. Many hands make light work! Thanks for raising the issues again Finn. One clear problem is that unfortunately too many researchers confuse making surveys or qual response less stressful with gamification. For a decade I've heard a lot about the latter Nd how we can learn from the gaming market. In reality the industry too often thinks adding characters or more fun answer options or the " chance to win if you complete the fun tasks" as gamification. It's not. Go look at successful games, from angry birds to world of warcraft. They create worlds where the player is there for the game, the data collected is huge but indirect. The last few years I've spent more time with esports and gaming companies. Companies that create "gamification" that people pay to play. When was the last time a market researcher was paid by respondents so they could play ? When was the last time market researchers paid gaming companies to develop ways to get the answers we seek inside their games ( and yes I know smarter MR people ate starting to use in game social like Discord)?. It's a big subject .. more dis ussion needed.thanks again for reminding us

After Paramount and Disney Advertising launched their ad platforms, Roku just released theirs. TL:DR in three bullet points: • Roku has launched Roku Ads Manager, a self-serve ad platform that allows advertisers to buy and optimize campaigns across all streaming inventory on Roku, not just individual streaming services. • The platform offers features such as geolocation targeting, audience segmentation, and outcome-based optimization. It also includes Roku's Action Ads, which allow for interactive elements like QR codes and prompts for app downloads or store locators. • Roku Ads Manager is designed to attract performance-oriented advertisers and includes shoppable TV capabilities, including an integration with Shopify that allows viewers to purchase items directly using their Roku remotes.
