Physical material reflection parameters

- [Instructor] Let's go a bit deeper into the physical material parameters and see how to control reflections. I've got a physical material with default parameters. It's assigned to the tabletop in the scene. I'll launch Active Shade so we can test our materials under conditions of real lighting and a real environment. The default parameters of the physical material kind of look like a shiny plastic. Let's select that material in the Material editor and in the parameters, let's isolate the reflections by bringing the base color weight down to zero. And now we can see the reflections pretty clearly. They're very sharp, and that's because the default reflection roughness is zero. This is giving the effect of a perfectly smooth, polished surface, but it doesn't look like a mirror. A mirror would have much brighter reflections here. If we want a mirror reflection, we want to increase the metal-ness or metallic parameter. Let's load up a preset that uses metal-ness. Go to the Presets and…
