- Okay, so now you know how to build your consulting brand from scratch, how to communicate your brand to your prospects, colleagues, and clients, and maybe even how to become a thought leader. So what's next? Now is the most important part: taking action. It's time to get going. Define your positioning, establish your key messages to claim your turf. Then turn on the loudspeakers so everyone knows how great you are, within the context of your firm, of course. As you make progress, be sure to keep learning. Check out some of the resources that are available. There are dozens of books on branding, consulting, and marketing that can inspire and educate you further. A few of my favorites, "Purple Cow" by Seth Godin, and "Stand Out" by my friend Dorie Clark. Dorie also has several excellent LinkedIn Learning courses.
