The Oscillator section
- The basses of any synthesizer sound is the oscillator. Massive has three Wavetable oscillators, a modulation oscillator and a noise oscillator. Let's start here with Oscillator 1. In the top-left corner there's a button to turn the oscillator on and off. To the right of that is the menu where you can choose which wave you want the oscillator to play. It has a ton of choices. You'll probably want to go through them all to see how they all sound. You can scroll through them one by one by clicking on the left or right arrows or by picking them in the menu. Let's just play some of these and see what they sound like. (distorted buzzing) (synthesized buzzing) To the right of the arrows is a menu to choose different modes of the waveform. Make sure to play with these to try different articulations. These modes can be further shaped by the Intensity knob below. You can get some interesting results if you just play around with it.
