Reduce email overload by limiting CCs
- Here's a thought. Nobody wakes up in the morning wishing they were CC'd on more emails. It is impossible to maintain focus and prioritize your tasks when your inbox is constantly flooded. While sharing information is crucial, oversharing can be worse. It's time to stop contributing to the flood of unread emails and start creating a culture of efficiency. In your next email limit the number of CC's that you have to three or less like Ferrari did to encourage their employees to talk more and email less. Need to update someone for the conversation later with a summary or need approval. Loop people in only for that task, and then remove them. By thoughtfully limiting your CC's, you'll reduce email overload and you'll prevent important messages from being overlooked. When the right people see the right messages, they become active participants and they get more done.
