- [Instructor] If you are not an employee of a company that's already set up with Salesforce, that's fine. You can sign up for a free practice version. This is known as a Salesforce Developer Environment, and it gives you a safe space to explore all the tools and features without impacting any live data. So this might also be a good option if you don't want to practice in your real version. A developer environment also allows advanced users to develop and test existing or new features and custom applications. The URL to sign up for a developer org changes periodically, so it's best to search for the Salesforce developer org signup page. When you find the signup page, complete the fields, and I recommend that you use a personal email address so that you can use this practice org regardless of your employer.
