How to get started with drafts

- [Instructor] So how do we get started with a draft? Now, this can be as long or as short as you want. Generally, a draft is a few hundred words long, and, like I said, you may do this three, four times in a round and turn it into a 1500 word article. But when I think in terms of drafting, every day I'm sitting down, I'm taking an idea out of my idea bucket, and I'm writing about 500 words on it, spending 20 to 30 minutes on it. And then if I want to keep going on it, great. If not, I want to stop, save it. And I've done my work for the day. I've written a draft, I've got something to come back to tomorrow. I don't have to share this with the world. And so part of the how to of writing a draft is one, pull an idea out of your idea bucket. Write for 20 to 30 minutes. Whatever time you have, could be less than that. Shoot for about 500 words and then give yourself permission to stop and come back to this later. Because…
