How AI agents create value for businesses

- Agentic AI creates value by augmenting or replacing human effort. It's a shift from the current best practice of having a human in the loop to ensure accurate AI generated results. If we can trust a machine to take on more tasks, it allows us to focus on higher value initiatives that only humans can do. Agentic AI creates business value in three ways. First and foremost, it automates tasks and increases efficiency and productivity that previously would have been difficult to program. This is because you can't anticipate all of the questions or scenarios or required steps. Customer service and customer engagement are top areas for AI agents, as it can reduce much of the work done by humans. Automation also reduces human errors and improves quality, while also enabling scalability by handling increased workloads without needing additional resources. The second way AI agents create business value is that they can learn and adapt to create personalized or customized results under changing circumstances that would normally require human intervention to reprogram the software, they exercise judgment and refine their decision making based on past interactions and data analysis. They can also ingest large amounts of data and analyze it in real time. For example, an AI agent can optimize a marketing plan and budget based on real time data from multiple marketing platforms. These agents are designed to operate in unknown environments, learning from their experiences and adapting their actions over time. They are also often used to personalize recommendation systems or power personal assistance as they learn what people prefer over time. This leads us to the third area of business value, which is the ability of AI agents to work across platforms. For example, HR has several routine tasks such as hiring candidates or reviewing employees, which has thousands of permutations of the same process. AI agents can navigate complex interfaces and systems, make decisions based on real time data and execute across multiple platforms. By letting AI agents handle routine tasks such as scheduling, data entry, and complex service requests, it enables people to focus on more strategic tasks. We just reviewed the three ways that AI agents can create business value. They increase efficiency and productivity by automating tasks, they learn and adapt, and lastly, they can work across platforms. In the next video, we'll examine six different types of AI agents and understand how they each create value. I'll see you there.
