- [Instructor] In some deployments, VoIP phones use DHCP option 66 and 150 to locate the server hosting their configuration files. In this segment, we'll discuss methods to identify and prevent DHC 66/150 errors. First, let's talk about DHCP options 66 and 150. These options provide VoIP devices with the correct server details automatically during the DHCP transaction. Option 66 provides the URL or IP address of the trivial file transfer protocol server, or similar service that hosts the configuration files. And option 150, which is used mainly by Cisco devices, can specify multiple TFTP server IP addresses. Now, problems can arise if there are multiple DHCP servers that aren't in sync or have incorrect settings, which can lead to conflicting information being provided to the VoIP phones. For example, if you're using more than 1D HCP server, which is common, make sure the scopes do not overlap and that the IP pools are correctly configured.
