Earlier today, CEO Matt Mullenweg shared the following note with Automattic employees. We are deeply grateful to all departing Automatticians. https://lnkd.in/g7Su_DT3
Great leaders have to make hard decisions that not everyone agrees with, yet will communicate with empathy and care for those that are impacted. I appreciate Matt and his leadership, and wish everyone that is impacted by this restructuring all the best.
Shameful, sad to think of how many workers are paying the price for Matt's midlife crisis.
This is so hard and sad for those impacted 😢
Awwww man. This is sad.
So saaad 😞
Because AI is replacing their jobs? That's how I read it anyways.
I appreciate the opportunity to have worked with ya'll! I hope you buy bitcoin with the saved money.

2wLayoffs are brutal for those involved. They are also a chance for affected people to reimagine their lives and explore alternatives to the corporate machine. Here is a post about franchising I made a few month back when I was in the process of rethinking how I want to spend my working week. Hopefully it is helpful to some ex-Automatticians. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/chris-januszewski-844a394_5-things-i-learned-about-franchising-during-activity-7287535368399175681-BZmD?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAAADdbHQBnQ7Qx1DJnVrWdEgeKA7Exz5Yx9s
