Some of us have been saying for many years that we need to completely rethink cyber security with the advent of quantum computing. We must ask ourselves what is the value of current encryption when we have advances such as those made by the adversary crypto geeks and in our own country through companies like Google and probably our own intelligence agencies and advanced research governmental organizations?  We need to completely reconsider all of our assumptions about cyber security and the value of many current encryption technology that we may assume is beyond the realm of breaking. But, combining the two burgeoning behemoths, quantum computing and AI (and related technologies), we are probably in for a very rude awakening. "Willow’s performance on this benchmark is astonishing," Google Quantum AI founder Hartmut Neven wrote in a blog post announcing the chip. "It performed a computation in under five minutes that would take one of today’s fastest supercomputers...10 septillion years."
