Our senior nursing students were called into action today during a live simulation event to test their disaster response & recovery services skills. The scenario: the Darby Creek flooded from heavy rains, displacing many Delaware County residents In partnership with the American Red Cross and Delaware County Health Department, students swung into action with an immediate post-flood response effort, providing medical care, temporary housing, transportation, food, reunification efforts & more

Finding & building community 💙💛 That’s what Widener officials are crediting for the spike in student-run clubs & organizations, as well as participation in those groups. In the 2023-24 academic year, we saw a 20% growth in new student groups, and a further 8% in fall 2024. This spring, we have approved, or are in the process of approving, another 11 orgs, for a total of nearly 90 campus groups.
